    We work closely with Landscape Architects, Developers and Main Contractors to deliver complex projects, efficiently and on time and take pride in maintaining these areas long after completion.

    THE TEAM

    We currently have in excess of 50 members of Landscaping and Fencing staff working from both our Stratford and Lichfield Depots as well home based operatives and managers. 

    All staff visiting site will carry a valid CSCS card as a minimum but many of our staff have varying additional qualifications including:

    • NVQ’s Levels 3, 4 and 5

    • IOSH Managing Safely

    • SSSTS

    • PA1 & PA6 Spray Licence

    • CAT & Genny & Location and Avoidance of Underground Services

    • NPTC Tree Surgery

    • Forklift Licences

    • 360 Excavator Licences

    • Face Fit Trained

    • Abrasive Wheel Trained

    • MEWP

    • First Aid

    • Various LANTRA based machinery Certificates

      We are committed as a company towards the ongoing training and development of our staff. We have in house qualified trainers who deliver various courses and continually monitor the quality and standards of work we deliver.

      Harry Downing

      Managing Director

      Responsible for the overall operational running of the business Harry manages 5 departmental heads ensuring clients receive the best possible service across the board. Also taking the role of Health and Safety Director, Harry is responsible for ensuring the Health and wellbeing of all staff, construction of all Risk Assessments and Method Statements and achieving annual accreditation of SMAS and CHAS. Managing Quality and Processes, Harry was pivotal in obtaining BALI membership in 2020 and continues to drive the ethos that Shines are “Trusted to Deliver”. Overseeing all tenders and commercial ventures Harry is pushing the business forward to continue the year on year growth seen over the last 10 years.

      With over 40 years experience in the house building industry including Regional Managing Director roles for some of the country’s leading house builders, Martin has used his wealth of experience to help grow the business, providing a Landscaping and Fencing service carefully tailored to our House Builder clients.

      Dale Bradley

      Landscape Operations Director

      Dale joined the business at the beginning of 2019 bringing with him a wealth of experience in the landscaping industry having worked for some of the biggest contractors in the country and running successful businesses of his own. Dale is responsible for the overall running of the landscaping side of Shines, managing our teams both in Stratford and Lichfield with 2 Operations Manager reporting directly into him. Dale is also pivotal in driving our Landscaping business forward and growing our client base.

      Tom Hoegger

      Landscape Operations Manager (South)

      Tom brings with him nearly 20 years Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Experience. Starting off his career at Leicester Tigers as an apprentice, Tom went on to complete 12 years working alongside some of the best Groundsmen in the Country. He extended his knowledge at the University of Leicester managing over 50 acres of sports pitches and open spaces. More recently Tom has managed over 70 sites in a GM role and continues to drive our Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Teams here at Stratford to deliver the highest quality. Tom joined us in 2021 as Grounds Maintenance Contracts Manager and we were delighted to see him progress into his Operations Manager role in early 2023.

      Joe Constable

      Project Manager

      Joe joined Shines in 2022 as a Landscape Team Leader and quickly proved his capabilities, earning a promotion within 12 months to Landscape Contracts Manager. In that role, he successfully managed multiple landscaping sites and teams. In May 2025, Joe advanced to Project Manager, where he now holds full responsibility for the day-to-day scheduling and coordination of all works. He manages job bookings through our programme system, ensuring efficient planning, resource allocation, and smooth project delivery across the business.

      Rob Jones

      Customer Care and External Remedials Manager

      Rob brings a wealth of experience to our team, with formal qualifications and hands-on expertise across a wide range of trades. His skill set includes UPVC door and window installation, mastic work, bricklaying, roofing, hard landscaping, groundworks, and general building works. As the head of our External Remedials and Customer Care teams, Rob provides a versatile, multi-trade solution—helping clients save both time and money by reducing the need to coordinate multiple contractors.

      Tim Begley

      Finance Manager

      As Head of the Accounts Department, Tim is fully responsible for all financial operations across the Shines Group of companies. With several years of experience working in finance across a range of industries, he brings a broad and valuable perspective. Tim’s in-depth industry knowledge has been instrumental in enhancing our financial systems and driving operational efficiency. His leadership ensures strong financial oversight and supports the continued growth and stability of the business.

      Emma Dimmick

      Commercial Manager

      Emma leads our Commercial team, overseeing contract management across all our service lines. She ensures accurate invoicing for all completed works and works closely with our clients' commercial departments to swiftly resolve queries and minimise outstanding debt. Emma brings valuable insight from her previous role as a surveyor for a major housebuilder, giving her a well-rounded perspective and a strong understanding of our clients’ expectations.
